Students will train in a traditional Okinawan style of karate focused on discipline, technique, and personal growth. This class emphasizes foundational skills including strikes, blocks, stances, and kata (forms), while also developing coordination, confidence, and self-control.
All students begin as white belts, regardless of prior martial arts experience, and will progress based on demonstrated skill, effort, and maturity. Students with previous training will benefit from a faster learning curve as they adapt to the distinct techniques and structure of Matsubayashi-ryu. Advancement is earned through consistent practice, with higher ranks held to increasing standards of behavior and responsibility.
Students are required to wear a standard all-white karate uniform (gi). Existing plain white uniforms without logos or patches are acceptable—no need to purchase a new one if you already have one. Optional patches specific to this style will be available for purchase but are not required.
